CAMH Wall History Augmented Reality

This is a video of an Augmented Reality project. It is about the dark history of the masonry wall surrounding the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto at the corner of Queen St & Shaw St. This wall was built by the patients of the institution in the 1800s as a form of their "treatment". The patients carved quotes into the wall to portray their suffering. I aim to bring awareness to this dark past by blowing up these quotes and placing them on the wall for passers-by to see. While at the same time have the quotes blend in to represent how the government attempted to hide this from the public and did not acknowledge it until the 1980s. Completed Feb 2020.
